Annemarie Harant, Bettina Steinbrugger – both founders and CEOs

Erdbeerwoche is the first company in the German speaking world that provides both an awareness raising platform and an online shop for sustainable feminine hygiene products. We want to scale because we see the potential of this topic and our products and that there are still 2 billion women out there who need to be informed about sustainable feminine hygiene and get access to the products.

What is the social impact of your business?

We measure our impact by the number of conventional products we substitute with our sustainable alternatives. By September 2015, we were able to substitute more than 1.000.000 conventional tampons and pads and therefore reduce significantly waste and improve the health situation of women.

What do you want to achieve by being part of Impact Hub Scaling?

We want to get relevant contacts in Germany, Italy and Spain that allow us to scale and to form strategic partnerships. We want to get relevant knowledge about the markets where we want to scale.

Please give us one interesting fact about you

We are not shy to tell anybody about the need of breaking the “bloody taboo” and raising awareness for sustainable feminine hygiene – not even in front of the 1.000 men to whom we already pitched our business model.
