An innovative digital mouthpiece that fights food waste! LastMinuteSottoCasa offer a new live-marketing formula that allows shops with a surplus of food products to instantly and easily inform people nearby. A win-win-win idea! The retailer wins (new, unexpected income at the end of the day and new clients stepping in), the client wins (fresh food at 50, 60, 70% discount) but most of all, the planet wins, avoiding throwing away tons of fresh food!
What is the social impact of your business?
Every single month, only in our town (Turin) where the idea has been launched, we are saving more than 1 ton of fresh food from being thrown away!
What do you want to achieve by being part of Impact Hub Scaling?
Scale the project, now spread all across Italy, in the future outside of our country. Due to the methodology this is a highly scalable project. Everywhere in the world, everyday, people are buying food and shops are throwing it away at the end of the day! We only need to translate our app and .. we’re done!
Please give us one interesting fact about you
A shop owner told us that every time he sends out a food-alert an old lady (more than 80) immediately enters his shop to get the discounted food products. He asked her: “How can you be the first to get to my shop? Are you on the Internet? Have you got a smartphone?” The lady answered: “No I don’t have any smartphones but I did ask my daughter to register as a client specifying my home address and each time she receive your offer she calls me on the phone. I simply put my shoes on and get down to you to get the bargain!”.
