Upside Down is part of the innovative movement of upcycling. This concept involves the transformation of things that ends its life cycle in urban environment into new products, with added value. Upside Down creates, designs and manufactures useful products as bags, wallets, covers from old truck covers and street banners, materials that are recovered and brought it back to life, but in another form.
What is the social impact of your business?
Marketing banners as well as old truck tarpaulins are usually trashed into landfills. In time, this leads to toxins getting into the soil. And the waste process ‘incineration’ doesn’t do better either, because toxins are released into the atmosphere. Upside Down offers and alternative to this by up-cycling these used outdoor campaign materials into new products, with added value.
What do you want to achieve by being part of Impact Hub Scaling?
We wish to increase the number of customers who acquire their upcycled products online, through the website.
Please give us one interesting fact about you.
Through this project we educate people to be more conscious regarding the environmental problems and to change environmental attitudes into environmental behaviours.
